SLS: Selective Laser Sintering

SLS additive manufacturing uses a laser to bond small grains of plastic, ceramic, glass or other materials such as metals, layer by layer into a 3D dimensional structure.

With SLS 3D Printing Technology we can produce nylon or carbon filled nylon parts that are both strong and accurate. The process employs a high amount of energy to fuse or sinter, composite powders together producing both prototypes and functional end-use components. By nesting multiple models into one build, the surrounding powder acts as a reusable support material, making SLS one of the most cost effective options in 3D Printing.

Technical Information

  • Build layer  0.1 mm (NR) and 0.06mm (HR)
  • Material Duraform PA compatible with autoclave sterilization and USP Class VI biocompatibility. Good chemical resistance and low moisture absorption. Surface quality good, slightly textured
  • Carbon fibre reinforced material has the highest strength-to-weight and stiffness-to-weight ratios of any 3D printed plastic. Temperature resistance up to 170°C and the material is also conductive.
