Jasper 250: A New Chapter in Design Innovation

To celebrate 250 years of Jasperware, Wedgwood partnered with XXII Studio to create Jasper 250, an AI-powered design platform that enables users to generate their own Wedgwood-inspired vases. The tool invites exploration of Wedgwood’s iconic visual style, producing beautiful, bold, and imaginative variations that celebrate the brand’s creative legacy.

Within weeks, tens of thousands of unique designs were created and shared by fans under #JASPER250, showcasing the enormous potential of AI-assisted design in modern creativity. This innovative campaign culminated in a global design competition, where the winning design by Chase Archer was chosen to be brought to life as a physical, 3D printed, museum-quality piece.

From AI Design to Museum-Ready Masterpiece

Transforming an AI-generated concept into a tangible, museum-grade object required both technical precision and creative expertise. Wedgwood partnered with 3D Print Bureau to translate the digital design into a full-colour 3D print.

Working alongside digital artist Marius Morhard, the design was refined from the AI output into a printable CAD model.

Using state-of-the-art Stratasys PolyJet technology, we produced a high-resolution, full-colour model that faithfully captured the vibrancy, detail, and complexity of the original design.

The final piece now holds a permanent place in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Wedgwood Collection, making history as a collaboration between a heritage brand and GenAI design, realised through the capabilities of cutting-edge 3D printing.
